When my puppy is not in his crate, ex-pen or puppy proof room:

(name of responsible adult)___________________________________ will be taking puppy outside to his potty place after puppy sleeps, plays or eats and will also set a timer for every (circle one) 20 minutes or 30 minutes or 60 minutes and take puppy to his potty spot when the timer goes off (keep in mind that smaller dogs and young puppies will need to be taken outside more frequently than older puppies.)

(name of responsible adult)__________________________________ will wait outside with puppy for three minutes or until puppy goes potty. When puppy goes potty in his potty spot, (name of responsible adult)_____________________________ will praise him and give him a treat.

If puppy does not go potty when taken outside, (name of responsible adult)___________________________ will put puppy inside his crate for 20 minutes and then try again. This will be repeated until puppy goes potty.
